Denali (20,310 ft) is the highest peak in North America. It is located in Alaska, and has also been known as Mt McKinley. In the year that I climbed, women comprised about 12% of the total number of climbers attempting Denali. Around 600 climbers successfully summit each year, but there is only a 50% success rate for summiting overall.
