ABOUT ROBIN

I am an adventure-seeking, adrenaline-loving, world traveler with a passion for life, and a desire for helping others!

I am a ‘country girl’ from a small farm in Roxboro, North Carolina. I was a gymnast, dancer, pianist, horse rider, and cheerleader. And in every way, I was a typical ‘small town girl,’ yet I had BIG DREAMS! I went to college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill (Go Tarheels!), and then earned my Doctorate of Medicine at the Brody School of Medicine at East Carolina University. Finally, I completed residency training in Emergency Medicine at New York Methodist Hospital in Brooklyn, New York. I have been working as an Emergency Medicine physician for many years, in New York, North Carolina, and Florida. Becoming a doctor meant extreme hard work and sacrifice, but it was also a dream come true. There is nothing more rewarding in this world than offering help to someone else in need.

I love to live life to the fullest, and I want to try it all. I am a scuba diver, hang glider pilot, mountaineer, skydiver, rock climber, paraglider, horseback rider, skier, aerial dancer, and Ironman triathlete. I thrive on training, traveling, and fun of every kind! I have been to over 60 countries in the world exploring my numerous hobbies.

I am FASCINATED with all of the cultures and individuals in the foreign regions that I explore, and with making journeys to those lands beyond. It is my eventual goal to travel to every country on this Earth, meet as many people as I can, experience all of the food and music and history, and have every wild adventure that I can dream up!

I have a FIRE in my blood for any type of physical challenge! In 2018, I completed the famous “Seven Summits” (climbing the highest mountain in each of the seven continents of the world, including TWO climbs on Mt Everest, the highest mountain OF ALL of the world!). This goal took me 5 years and 14 training mountains to achieve. I have also completed two full Ironman Triathlons (140.6 miles each), and numerous other marathons, Spartan races, mud runs, and half-Iron triathlons.

In a desire to pay it forward, I wanted to find a way to channel my travel, fitness challenges, and adventures in order to help others. Last year after my successful summit of Mt Everest, I began doing motivational speaking to children, in hopes that I can inspire the youth of today to also reach for their goals. My 3 simple main points are: 1. Believe in yourself, 2. Never give up, 3. Dream BIG! Over the years, I have chosen many charities to which I donate, as I love to give back as a philanthropist. My most rewarding experience, however, has been representing the local Girl Scouts Troop in my mountain climbing endeavors, and in carrying their flag and their courage all the way to the summit of Mt Everest. As a female doctor in a male dominated medical field, and in being one of the ONLY females in the male dominated sports that I do, I hope to empower the girls to break through these boundaries and reach for the stars!

While I explore all of these world journeys and unique adventures for my own fun and happiness, I also want them to have a purpose. I will continue to lead as a role model for children, showing that they can achieve any dream that they can imagine! I have been committed and have worked extremely hard to accomplish all that I have today. I hope to show that through perseverance and dedication, one can overcome any challenge, and reach their own “summit.”
