– Summited 5/2018
Mt Everest (Chomolungma) is 29,035 ft and thus stands as the highest mountain in the world. It is located between Nepal and Tibet. Everest was first summited on May 29, 1953 by Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay, via the South Face (in Nepal). I first came to Everest in 2017 and made it to the South Summit at 28,700 ft and stopped to try and assist some very ill climbers. Causing a failure in my own oxygen system in this process, I fell unconscious and eventually after revived, was able to make my way back down to Camp 4, thus ending my summit attempt that year. I returned in 2018 and successfully completed the summit on May 19, 2018. There are just over 5,000 people in the world who have successfully summited Everest, and only around 500 of those were women.
